Peaceful Tomorrows People-to-People Delegation in Iraq



Monday March 17, Washington DC

September 11th Family members led an act of nonviolent civil disobedience on the west lawn of the US Capitol to protest war with Iraq. Adele Welty who lost her son Firefighter Timothy Welty FDNY; Bob McIlvaine who lost his son Bob in the World Trade Center and Rita Lasar who lost her brother in the World Trade Center were all arrested for the first time after their act of civil disobedience.

Cards Written by Students in Afghanistan to Kids of America

When four Peaceful Tomorrows members traveled to Afghanistan in January, they brought donations, cards and letters from children in the US, expressing a message of friendship to the children of Afghanistan. A classroom of older students (15-20 year old young women) at the Alfatha school for girls in Kabul wrote back to their new pen pals. See what the youth of Afghanistan have to say!

DC Rally Pics

June 26 was the Day of Action in Washington DC to lobby Congress to restore the right to habeas corpus, end US-sponsored torture, and close Guantanamo prison.

More than 2000 volunteers and activists participated in the event, and lobbied Congress.

PT members, Bruse, Valerie, Adele and Talat participated in the protest and lobbied Congress. Pictures shows PT members at the campaign.



Berlin 9.15 Demonstration

In Germany, anti-war protesters gathered in Berlin on Saturday to demand the pullout of German troops from Afghanistan. The protest comes ahead of a key parliamentary vote on Germany's role in the nearly six-year-old war. Speakers at the protest included American peace activist Kelly Campbell of Sept. 11 Families for Peaceful Tomorrows.
