Were you near the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001? Did you witness the destruction? Did the experience make you want world peace and universal disarmament more than ever? Then come out during your lunch hour and stand with WTC Witnesses United for Peace.
Vigil for Peace at Ground Zero
Every Wednesday, 12:30 noon to 1:30 pm
12:30 noon
Church St. and Vesey
(by St. Paul’s Chapel churchyard)
12:45 pm
Broadway and Vesey
(in front of St. Paul’s Chapel)
Be ready to stand silently. Consider fasting, wearing black, bringing a candle. If you can, make a personal sign (perhaps with photos) about your experience of the disaster and the recovery effort and how that is connected to your opposition to war. Organizers will bring signs and a banner with these messages:
May World Peace Rise From These Ashes–
And Let It Begin With US
No Ground Zero in Baghdad
Stop the Cycle of Mass Destruction
Disarmament Begins at Home
No More Ground Zeroes
Our Grief is Not a Cry for War
